Regular Meetings

In our regular meetings we usually discuss any club business, then we have our "Show and Tell" session by bringing our latest finished models and/or latest purchased model for an "on-the-box" review, followed by the election of the model of the month among the built models.

After the "Show and Tell", often we have "clinics" were some of our more experienced members show their skills and share their knowledge on different  painting, decaling or building techniques. If we are not having a scheduled clinic, then we just have an extra "Bull and Build" session.

We have the regular meetings on the last Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM,  We hold our meetings at the Estes Park room in the 4H building at "The Ranch",  with the exception of the Christmas Party which is on a pre-arranged date, place and time.

You can find driving directions to "The Ranch" here

Usually, after the meetings, we go out for dinner or a snack. Purchase of food/beverages is left to the individuals.

"Bull and Build" session

Our "Bull and Build" meetings is when we took off our tools and models for a few hours of shared building fun. Each person is responsible of bringing its own tools and model kit to work with.

The "Bull and Build" sessions are on the morning hours of the second saturday at "Hobby Town" in Fort Collins.

Usually, after the "Bull and Build" session, we go out for lunch. Again purchase of food/beverages is left to the individuals.

Meeting Minutes by Gary Moore

January 2008:

We had 14 people attending the 1st meeting of the year, along with 7 models to look at. The model of the month being a 1/48 Tiger built by Tomaz Menert.

We also had a guest from the Northern Colorado Model Railroad Club, Bill Beranek, who talked about an upcoming NMRA Rocky Mountain Region 2009 Convention to be held in Greeley on May 22-24 2009. They wanted to know if there was anything we could do to help draw people, with some type of display, clinic, etc. Any suggestions?

It was also announced that Hobbytown Will be Holding a contest on April 14 at the Longmont store. All and all we had a nice turnout, hope to see more next month ,and be sure to bring something to work on.

See you Gary M.

 Until next month. Gary M.
